letters and their sounds, which is important for both reading and writing.
The lists and activities below can be used at home, to help your child learn to spell - putting letters together correctly to form words.

Each physical pack of Spelling Words has an activity card included, with activities for your learner to try. Below are some examples of how you might use these ideas:
Use physical body movements, while spelling the words out loud - clap or hop while saying the letters in each word . . .

Write a silly story using your words - your challenge is to use as many of your spelling words as you can . . .
Extra ways to practice -
Spelling practice isn’t just about rote memorisation. A combination of engaging visual, tactile and auditory activities will help learners conquer the challenge of remembering spelling words. Here are some more activities your learner can try:
Using scrabble tiles, encourage your learner to spell as many words from the list as possible, without looking.

Choose a list of 10 words for your learner to practice. Using different coloured pens, encourage them to practice writing the words around a spiral
Say each letter out loud as they write.
Can your learner practice
a different list of spelling words, by writing their way around a different shape? A square? A shape to fit
the word?
Using a variety of colours is great for helping a visual learner remember their spelling words!
Choose a list of words for your learner to practice. Encourage your learner to find the relevant letters in magazines or newspapers, and glue to words together.
Or maybe you could scramble a group of magnetic letters and see how many words your learner can make from the list !
