Event Overview

The purpose of the Space Law Laser Tag Networking Event is to create an informal, engaging space where law students interested in space law can connect, share ideas, and learn about opportunities in the field. Because space law is a relatively niche and interdisciplinary area, students often lack organic opportunities to meet peers with similar interests. This event aims to build community across class years, encourage collaboration on academic and professional initiatives, and reduce the pressure often associated with traditional networking by centering the experience around a fun, team-based activity.

PRIDE in Healthcare’s Makerspace Event is designed to strengthen visibility, belonging, and community among LGBTQIA+ students and allies within the health sciences. The event aims to bring health‑professional students into the Makerspace environment, encouraging creativity, collaboration, and cross‑disciplinary connection. By offering hands‑on activities such as tie‑dye tote bags, pronoun and pride‑themed bracelets, and custom button‑making, the event creates a welcoming space where participants can express identity, decompress from academic stress, and build supportive peer networks. An additional goal is to increase awareness of PRIDE in Healthcare’s mission and ongoing initiatives, while also highlighting campus resources that foster inclusion and wellbeing.

Event Overview

To coordinate a wellness bowling event for 4th year medical students during the week leading up to Match Day (a day where 4th year students are matched to residency positions across the country). The purpose of this event is to bring medical students together, who have been dispersed throughout MN hospital and clinic systems in their final two years of medical school doing clinical training. Our shared goal is to build community, collegiality and share experiences over the pre-match process and questions/concerns leading into residency by having a low-key, facilitated activity (bowling).

Event Overview

Entertainment, Media and Arts Law Club (EMAC) is a student organization at the law school committed to fostering a vibrant community of lawyers, media professionals and artists in the entertainment, media and arts spaces. Spring Fest 2026 is designed to provide a forum for this community-building effort. Our overarching goal is to deliver professional and credible programming in a space tailored to develop relationships between professional students and the people they will serve in their careers in entertainment, media and arts law. The event will help us accomplish our goals in several ways. Firstly, it will establish EMAC as a credible and determined presence in the entertainment space that goes beyond simply holding boilerplate speaking engagements and brings quality programming to student life. By incorporating dialogue and artistry, the event will help bridge the gap between law and professional students and develop a relationship that goes beyond simply client-service and helps students understand their clients on a human level.

Event Overview

Purpose & Goals: The IP Garden aims to foster organic relationships across health professional programs. Often, health professional students are siloed during their education to their specific field of study. There is a dearth of natural opportunities to create relationships and exchange perspectives which become so vital in working successfully as a healthcare team. Through this event which supports wellness through gardening, we plan to further our goals as an organization by bringing a diverse set of students together, creating conversation, and building community among future healthcare professionals. We plan to advertise this event around the Center for Health Interprofessional Programs (CHIP) and surrounding areas with hopes to encourage health professional students, especially those who have not previously attended our club events, to participate in the spring garden party and have a stress-free opportunity to try something new and form connections with other students while taking care of their wellbeing.

Event Overview

Purpose & Goals: Our student organization exists to facilitate relationship building and collaboration between different health professional programs; these relationships and interdisciplinary communication skills will then carry into our healthcare careers. The purpose of this event is to break down barriers that exist between the health professional programs in Duluth (Medicine and Pharmacy). In addition, we feel that Twin Cities health professional students have a lot more opportunities for interprofessional collaboration than we do in Duluth, so we are trying to make those experiences more equitable between campuses.

Event Overview

The Minnesota Law Review’s Banquet provides an opportunity for the organization’s editors and staffers to celebrate the successful publication of the Volume 110’s six issues. Currently, the Banquet is funded by (1) private donations from law firms, (2) funds specifically dedicated to the Law Review, and (3) the Law School. The Law Review will not pay speakers at the event, nor will it reimburse for parking. No funds received from PSG will be used to fund alcohol purchases for the event, though alcohol will be purchased for the event using other funding sources. The Law Review's Banquet Committee has reached out to alumni, law firms, "VIPs" in the Twin Cities legal community, and faculty members involved with the Law Review to promote the event.

Event Overview

The purpose of this event is to increase awareness, knowledge, and engagement around key issues in community health, with a particular focus on health disparities in rural populations, patient education, and health literacy. Through expert-led discussions, the event aims to provide UMN students an opportunity to learn about various needs in rural communities while sharing practical strategies for improving equitable health outcomes. Guest speakers will provide interdisciplinary perspectives that connect clinical practice, public health, and community-based approaches to care. Further, the event aims to foster interaction between panelists and students. By sharing case reports and real-world scenarios, panelists will provide concrete examples of health equity challenges. Direct dialogue will allow students to ask questions and discuss various perspectives, promoting community among diverse professional students. Ultimately, the event seeks to educate and inspire future health professionals to advocate for equity in healthcare.

Event Overview

The Pay It Forward Committee is a student organization consisting of first, second, and third year pharmacy students. The organization is in charge of planning and hosting the annual Pharmacy Gala every year, which honors Michelle Mentzer. Michelle was a first-year pharmacy student (Class of 2008) who passed away in the Spring of 2005 after battling Leukemia. She impacted many individual lives with her joyful spirit and enthusiasm, which is celebrated each year at this event. There is also a scholarship fund through the University of Minnesota that is awarded to a pharmacy student who

demonstrates "enthusiasm and whose courage inspires their colleagues to make changes in the profession." In addition to honoring Michelle, one of our goals include collecting donations for the scholarship fund. We also have a goal for networking at this event, supported by the attendance of

alumni.

Event Overview

The Veterinary Treatment Outreach for Urban Community Health (VeTouch) will be holding a lunch and learn event to educate students on different procedures for common laboratory tests we run at our monthly clinics. One of our main purposes for this event is to make sure students who have not learned these techniques from past veterinary experiences or have not learned yet in the curriculum, feel more comfortable running these during our monthly clinics. This also ensures our clients can get more diagnostic information for their pets, especially if we think something abnormal is occurring. This will ensure we are treating appropriately for conditions present in our patients and that students feel equipped to run these tests.

Event Overview

Purpose & Goals: To educate the health professional student body about proper nutrition and nutrition-related tools that can be used while counseling patients about their diet and its implications on their health.

Agenda & How it Helps Achieve Your Goals: We plan to have Jessica Stangenes, a UMMC ICU Gastroenterology PA and former ICU RD who is an expert in this field come in to do a brief presentation about their role in healthcare followed by a question and answer session. We will also have the speaker touch on strategies for when talking to patients and the types of diet changes we should be recommending as health professionals in other fields (e.g. physicians and pharmacists). Having somebody knowledgeable in the field will provide the best perspective and encourage a larger audience.

Event Overview

The purpose of this event is to provide medical students with practical exposure to radiology and interventional radiology skills that are not emphasized in the preclinical curriculum. The goal is to improve student comfort with interpreting common imaging modalities, understanding how imaging guides clinical decision making, and gaining early exposure to image guided procedures. Additional goals include increasing awareness of radiology and interventional radiology as clinical fields, facilitating mentorship and informal advising with resident physicians, and creating a low pressure environment for students to actively practice skills rather than passively observe.
