    • Need to address deferred maintenance on existing facilities (roofs & systems)

    • Cost to operate existing facilities (outdated systems and layouts)

    • Current Administration Building faces many of the same maintenance and operations challenges

Committee Determinations

  • Cost of ongoing capital improvements continues to increase for existing facilities.
    • Chapman, Muraski, Surrarrer, Whitney, and Zellers/BOE built more than 50 years ago.
    • Cost of updating older buildings to current code and requirements is approaching the cost of new facilities.

  • Demographic study estimates increase in district enrollment.

  • Committee supports a building project to replace the elementary buildings.

Pursue capital improvement projects

to replace the roofs

at the Chapman and Whitney Elementary Buildings

Due to the present condition of the current SAO (Strongsville Administrative Offices)

building there is a need to explore an alternative location.
