Show Your Heart Week of Welcome
22nd-26th November 2021
How does it make you feel?
What might have inspired the composer?
How would you describe what’s happening?
Do you know where in the world you and your ancestors originated?
Why do people migrate?
Orange hearts have begun appearing all over the country…
…on tee-shirts
…in people’s windows
…amongst friends
…in parks and playgrounds, in streets and shops…
Why an orange heart?
The orange heart
represents compassion for people fleeing war, persecution or violence.
It is inspired by the Refugee Nation flag, and the colours of a lifebelt,
the heart symbolises
hope and kindness.

Remember this music?
If any one of us feared for our lives or the lives of our loved ones, we’d want to know that others would help us to safety, wouldn’t we? This is our chance to show our messages of welcome and support for everyone – no matter what we look like or where we come from.
By taking part in Swindon Schools of Sanctuary’s Show Your Heart Week of Welcome, you are letting everyone across the town, across Wiltshire, and across the whole of the UK, know you believe that people who are seeking sanctuary here in our communities with us should be welcomed and treated with care and compassion.
