The risen Christ is here
if we have eyes to see;
When unannounced he comes,
sometimes surprisingly;
He’s open to
An earthly view
When human love is born anew.
When sharing with the crushed,
those trapped in misery
We bring a gentleness,
a comfort ministry;
And when we do
Christ lives anew
In human love – in me and you.
When laws support the poor
and sponsor equity,
When power is exercised
to foster harmony;
Yes! That is when
Christ lives again,
And joyfully we sing, Amen.
When nature does its worst,
we search quite frantically
For injured and the lost;
We spend love’s currency;
and as we strive
There is that drive
In human love - Christ is alive!
When love is lived today
and lived repeatedly,
When love is born of love
and not cold piety,
Christ lives once more
He is the core
Of human love. We stand in awe.
