CONVERT OVER TO MyPath THIS WEEK

Emails have been sent out in regards to switching over from PathBlazer to MyPath. Students will find this software more user friendly. You can find the bookmark in your Bookmark bar in the folder called FES Sites. Your mentor teachers will be referencing your time on this instead of PathBlazer.

*Parents, it’s important for your child to hold the book in their hands; understanding what is the front, back and spin of the book.

Practice reading the book every day. Parents can help the first couple of days but by the end of the week you should be able to easily read the story by yourself.

The school year is quickly coming to an end and you will soon be off to Third Grade!!

In this writing activity, you will write 3 paragraphs about what you are most looking forward to next school year.

Work through the writing process, starting with brainstorming, drafting, editing/revising, and finally publishing. Please make sure that you have nice, neat handwriting and that you have written COMPLETE sentences. Read it out loud to someone in your family so they can give you suggestions on edit.

Print out this paper to use for your writing.

Opposite Operations

Now that we have taken the time to learn 1, 2, and 3-digit addition and subtraction I would like to share a strategy called Opposite Operations. This strategy will allow you to check your work independently and know, without a doubt that you are correct. Addition and subtraction are opposites but connected; this strategy proves that.

When you are done watching Mrs. Kittleson’s video about this strategy;

print and complete this worksheet. On a separate sheet of paper check EACH PROBLEM by using the opposite operation.
