Football is the most popular sport in Greece. A lot of people love playing it professionally

but also enjoy watching it.

Greece is known for winning the Football European Championship in Portugal in 2004.

It managed to defeat and eliminate great teams like France and Portugal.

One of the Greek players who have played in European teams is Kostas Manolas. He played

in Greek teams where he won the Greek Super League twice. He is an international player.

Manolas played in Roma and now he plays in Napoli. He is an athlete who inspires young

children.

The “lord” of the rings as he is called , Lefteris Petrounias was born on 30th November 1990 in Athens and he is 31 years old.

Water polo is a hard sport with seven players. It is played in a pool so the players must have swimming skills.

National water polo team competed in many Olympic games. At the world cup in 2002 it took the 4th place and in 1997 it took the 2nd place. The National team of women is a great team too. It took the first place in polo world cup of 2011.
