Our Problem of Practice

The FCPS Strategic Plan has named as one of its goals: “All students will meet grade-level expectations for Portrait of a Graduate outcomes as measured by their performance on end of year POG Presentations of Learning by 2025-26.” Participation in VALIN will help us address this opportunity for scaling innovation across a county of over 220 schools and over 180,000 students to ensure access and opportunity for every FCPS student. This networking cohort will allow us to think strategically about how we will scale this work over the next 3 years and learn from other school districts’ experiences and challenges with learning innovations and assessment. This opportunity requires our undivided attention because it is a division priority and is part of every school’s School Improvement and Innovation Plan.
