Rationale | During this election campaign period…
There is a need to bring the voting population into a gradual exposure and yet non-intimidating ways of candidate selection by providing a support environment to help them understand the current situation in the country and that something major is needed to correct the situation.
The Discernment Process (DP) is a tool anchored on knowing/sharing the facts and truth about the various candidates aspiring to lead our country guided by our faith and the power of the Holy Spirit who shall aid the voters in selecting the right candidate who will fulfill God’s will and mission.
Framework
Participants will be given “ballots” (in the form of unmarked pieces of white paper) where they will be asked to write down the names of their preferred candidates for President and Vice President.
The ballots will be collected by the facilitator and placed in an envelope marked “Envelope 1”.

3. Ganito po paraan ng pagsagot:

Sa personal na antas, may nararamdaman po ba kayo katulad ng kalungkutan? Depresyon? Takot o pangamba?kawalan ng kapanatagan? kawalan ng tiwala? Paghihinala? o iba pang pangamba?

On a personal level, there is loneliness, depression, fear, insecurity, mistrust, etc.
Do we agree that something major is needed to correct the situation? Man is not succeeding in addressing all these concerns because all the efforts are based on man’s wisdom. What we need is God’s wisdom and way.
God’s plan for all of us is to join Him is His kingdom in Heaven. God the Father sent His only son, Jesus, who became our savior. He is the fullness of God’s love because in Jesus we experience the love of God. Thru Jesus, we are saved and restored to our relationship with God thru His teachings.
Clearly, His directions are to Love our God and Love our neighbors as we love ourselves. These two (2) always goes together. To achieve these, we should know his mission : To bring glad tidings to the poor and to proclaim liberty to the captives. His mission therefore is our mission.

Let us choose candidate whose platform is align with the mission statement of Jesus. Not based on the promises and illusion to bring us back to the “golden era” which never happened before. Let us choose based on what had been accomplished and to be accomplish for our marginalized society.
