Class N

  • Compact and for sterilizing simple materials. The letter “N” stands for “naked solid products”.
  • Cannot be used to sterilize textiles, porous loads, hollow items or even roducts in pouches

Class B

  • Small machines that offer big performance. The letter “B” stands for “big small sterilizers”
  • Any type of load can be sterilized in a Class B autoclave. This includes porous materials, products in pouches, textiles and hollow items.
  • Uses a vacuum pump to remove air from chamber.
  • The applicable standard for equipment of this kind is EN 13060, which is specifically dedicated to small steam sterilizers (i.e. machines with a sterilization chamber that is smaller than the sterilization unit [ STU ] ).

PLANNED PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE

A planned preventative maintenance (PPM) strategy means that maintenance tasks are scheduled ahead of time, to take place on a regular basis – even while an asset is still functioning normally.

  1. Frequency / year eg. 3 times / year

  • Comprehensive or Non-Comprehensive

20 of 28

Why is it important to have PPM

  1. Prolongs the life of your equipment

B) Reduces downtime

C) Decreases reactive maintenance requests – reduce stress

D) Helps you manage compliance and inspection needs ( JKKP) AND

E) Prevents costly emergency repairs from occurring.
