Dear First Grader,
Welcome back to school! My name is Mrs. Baldwin. I will be your first grade teacher this year. I am very excited to have you in my class! We have many exciting things to look forward to this year! ☺
Enclosed with this letter you probably already found your name tag. Please write your name on the school bus with a sharpie. Please wear it on the first day of school so that I can easily recognize you. Once you come to school, I will put your bus number on the nametag.
Please wear your nametag until you are familiar with your bus number.
In order for us to get to know each other better, I would like you to decorate the enclosed puzzle piece. Please include your name on the puzzle piece and decorate it with things that represent you! (i.e. favorite color, sport, food, activity, etc…) Be creative! We will put our puzzle pieces together during the first week of school.
School Supplies
The items on the school supply list below are things the students will be using in the classroom throughout the year. Many parents and students ask, “What do I need to get for the new school year?” Although the school does supply these items, you and your child may wish to personalize or supplement the school classroom supplies with your own choices or brands. If you choose to purchase your child’s supplies, please use the recommended list below:
pencil box sharpened pencils box of 24 crayons
2 large glue sticks 2 dry erase markers scissors
***Please make sure all of the above supplies will be able to fit into the pencil box that you choose.
1-inch binder with 20 plastic protector sheets
1 refillable water bottle to be brought to and from school each day
Please be sure to label all of the supplies with your child’s name.

Classroom Wish List Items
2 packages of baby wipes
One box of gallon or sandwich sized Ziploc bags
Hand soap/Sanitizer
Tissues
We will also be taking a brief snack break each day. You may bring a small snack to school each day. The snack should be something that can be eaten and cleaned up within 15 minutes. Due to peanut allergies, please refrain from sending peanut products into the classroom. You are more than welcome to send in peanut items for lunch.
Enjoy the rest of your summer. I can’t wait to meet you on September 4, 2025!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Baldwin
