Student Expectations

  • This presentation was created to remind students of expectations and procedures in the lunchroom/recess time
  • Students need to be respectful/silent when the teacher shuts off the lights to give an announcement or indicate it is

getting too loud

During Lunch Time Transition

You may visit your locker and then either:

    • Be outside
    • Be in the lunch line
    • Be seated in the cafeteria
    • Be in class (after lunch)

before the tardy bell rings!

Inside Cafeteria

  • Use only “inside voices” to talk.
  • Do not yell or shout.
  • Students wanting to use microwaves need to use the microwave when available.
    • Line up to use
    • Use only microwavable containers.
    • Clean up your spills.
  • Stay seated if you don’t have a pass to go out or aren’t using the microwave.
  • Enjoy the Daily Announcements on TV

Inside Cafeteria (cont.)

  • Raise your hand to ask for a restroom pass.
    • There are no locker passes during lunch; so make sure you have what you need!
    • Lockers in the cafeteria are not to be used during lunch time, unless it is done after dismissal.
  • Take care of what you need to do quickly and quietly.
  • Return the pass to the teacher on duty.
    • If you are found without a pass you will be assigned cleaning duty or detention.

Clean Up and Recycle �(Starts a few minutes before students are dismissed table to table):

If you make a mess, please raise your hand and ask for supplies to clean it up. If it is an emergency (a huge mess), immediately get up and start cleaning!

    • You may not leave until your table has been dismissed.
    • Clean up your area, look under the table and pick up around you, throw away trash and place your recyclables in the proper containers when instructed.
    • Use the Clorox Wipes to clean your area of the table and pass it down the table.
    • Wait quietly to be dismissed.

Tables are dismissed one at a time

When your table is dismissed:

  • Quietly go to your locker and exit out the door by Mr. Flynn’s

If you are in the hallway 5 minutes after you are dismissed, you will need a pass.

Your Attention Please

If the teacher(s) on duty needs your attention he or she will flash lights or turn them off. You are expected to:

    • Stop talking.
    • Stop moving.
    • Look at the duty person.
    • Remain this way until the person has finished talking.

Grade Level Competition Points!!!!!!!!!!

Every day, teachers report points earned or lost during lunch!

    • Gain UP TO 100 points for being AMAZING.
    • Zero points for being just ok.
    • Lose UP TO 100 points for not listening or leaving the cafeteria extra messy.
    • Those points count toward earning free dress and the movie field trip, so remind your friends!

Outside (Recess Time)

You must have a pass to enter the building.

    • Obtain the pass from one of the teachers on duty.
    • You may not go to your locker at this time.
    • You need to enter through the Student Entrance door by Ms. Cortes’ office.
    • Return the pass to one of the teachers on duty when you are done.
    • Absolutely no food or drink outside.

  • Students should have their shirts tucked in.
  • Students should show good sportsmanship
  • Students should play safely.
  • Students should not be playing rough.
  • If there is an issue the duty teacher must be notified.
  • Play only the assigned sport of the day!!!!

Outside (Recess Time)

Picnic Tables and General Behavior

  • Please be kind to the picnic tables. Do not sit on the top of them.
  • No electronic equipment is allowed at school.
  • Stay within the proper play boundaries… the railing and main building.
  • Do not sit on Music room railings or ramp.
  • No listening to music, taking pictures/videos.
  • Cell phones are just for calling and texting.

When the teacher motions

  1. Line up by the north door (by Ms. Cortes’ office).
  2. Shirt should be tucked in throughout recess, but check before entering building.
  3. Wait and listen for instructions.
  4. Visit your locker and
    • Pick up your lunch and/or lunch money (if before lunch).
    • Be in the cafeteria (for lunch) or your next class (after lunch) within 5 minutes of entering the building.
  5. Please be quiet in the hallway. Classes are in session.

Remember, you are being recorded…

there are cameras, inside and outside, recording your movement twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
