HackGT: FiLog

Universal data tracker with app integration for real-time patient-provider communication.

2 of 12

Problem

Real-time communication between patient and provider is often inadequate, leading to blind spots in treatment.

3 of 12

Scenario

  • A young child, post-trauma, admitted to hospital.
  • Nurses, already understaffed check in only once per hour.
  • Child is too nervous/overwhelmed to explain what’s wrong.
  • Providers rely on guesswork and occasional snapshots of his condition.

— — —

  • Barriers include: age, stress, illness, disability, or language differences.
  • Current methods (verbal check-ins, picture scales) = inconsistent, biased, and poorly organized for long-term care.

A Universal Data Tracker + AppProvides Real-Time Patient-Provider Communication

Providers receive a clear summary with most recent information

Recorded data displayed in graphs, displaying trends

Provider Summary

Patient Input

Patients log data (e.g., pain, mood, discomfort) instantly with a simple button press via physical or digital device.

Data Recorded

Information is saved on the app, tied to the patient

Buttons

Arduino Uno

Hardware

Web Server

Each set of buttons corresponds to a specific variable (i.e. pain, discomfort level, mood)

Arduino Uno used to receive button press inputs and record the corresponding state.

A node.js file is used to interpret the arduino output and send the corresponding data to the frontend graphs.

Node.js Backend

Arduino IDE

The front-end displaying the the patient’s data to the provider is made with React and JavaScript.

A C++ script reads the button inputs and records the corresponding information.
