Blog Title: This Needs Some Volume.

Brands engage influencers for various reasons, one of which is to amplify their messages or campaigns. These types of social media influencers called the amplifiers have sizable social media following or are conversationalists. They are tasked with accelerating conversations in favor of the brand so that the desired words or hashtags have a cascading effect and appear on the trend list. That's the power duo of volume: whether generated from a big source or derived from small sources, and the presence of social media. Social media has given hope to several social cases that could have gone under because of geographic, social or economic deprivations. It has given people access to people, community and opportunities that can lift their voices beyond their rooms or corners of injustice. We see this amplification was helpful to END SARS - a movement where the Nigerian youth spoke up against police brutality. Before the protest, brutality was taking its turn on people in isolation, people had individual experiences to bear alone. Brutality thrived in the darkness until the volume of conversations was turned up to drive people to the streets to protest and demand justice.

There's hope in platforms that identify what needs volume and justice.
