Individual Library Passes
The Library is used for Academic Purposes only during class time.
Completely fill out one library pass per student.
Students not following library guidelines will be sent back.
Study Hall students must check in with supervisor to obtain a library pass before coming to the library.
Forged library passes result in an instant referral. We do not allow students to skip in the library.
Late Arrival/Early Dismissal students can get a permanent pass to carry with them from Julie in the Counseling Center. They must show this pass each time they enter the library during Late Arrival or Early Dismissal, and they must follow library guidelines.

Individual Library Passes
For your information…
Library TAs stamp the date in red ink on the day of or day after your student’s visit to the library. This stamped pass is placed in your mailbox as a “check” for you to be sure s/he made it.
Most students do not know we do this. It is helpful to our TAs if you sign your name legibly. If you send a student with a library pass written on a scrap of paper, that will signal our TAs that you need more library passes.
Students are required to sign in, so you can check the sign in records as well if you have attendance concerns. They also sign in before and after school, and during lunch.
Please sign up with me in advance whenever you are bringing/sending more than 5 students to the library at a time. Remember the 10/10 rule: no hall passes for the first 10 minutes and last 10 minutes of class.

Substitutes
Madison Library Substitutes Policy states that if a substitute has students in your classroom who have a specific class assignment that they must use our school library resources to complete AND they have finished the instructional plans for the day:
1. Subs will call x79370
2. Ask for Librarian, Nancy Sullivan
3. Check-in about whether there is space available
for up to three students
In the case that there is availability, the substitute will need to write an individual library pass for each student. Students will be sent back to the classroom if the library has not first received a phone call checking availability.
