Graduation Reminders

Graduation Requirements

• Total credits → need 30 to graduate
• Compulsory Credits (pay attention to group requirements) - myBlueprint
• Literacy Test
• Community Service Hours
• 2 e-learning credits (E-Learning Opt-Out Form)
• DUE DATE: Nov 1st 2025

(40 hours for students graduating in 2026)

• Must not the replace the role of a worker who would normally receive wages

• Ontario College Application System (OCAS)
• $150 for 5 programs + supplementary application fees
• Online application system
• Application Deadline: FEB 1^ST 2026
• Offers of Acceptance occur between Feb and May
• May 1st must respond to offers

University: Admission Requirements

• Ontario Secondary School Diploma
• 6 Grade 12 M or U level credits
• ENG4U is required for all programs
• Some programs have required courses for admission

University: Application Process

• Ontario University application Center (OUAC)
• $156 for 3 choices, $50 for each additional choice - + supplementary application fees
• All Ontario Universities plus McGill, Bishop’s, Concordia, Dalhousie, UBC, Simon Fraser, University of Calgary, U of NB, St Mary’s U, U of Victoria
• Online application
• Application Deadline: JAN 15^TH, 2026
• Offers of Acceptance: Between Feb and May
• June 1^st is the earliest date by which universities demand a response

OUAC/OCAS Uploads

• Demographic Data: Oct 1st, 2025
• Semester one marks: Nov 12th 2025 and Feb 10th 2026
• Semester two marks: Apr 22nd 2026 and July 2nd 2026

All uploads occur at noon

Discuss with your guidance counsellor your intention to apply to international post-secondary programs as early as possible, as many international programs have early fall application deadlines.

Be sure you and your family do research to learn about

• timelines specific to your programs of choice

English Language Requirements

Why may I require to show English language proficiency?

​

• If English is not your first language (i.e. is not the first language you learned at home as a child)

AND

• If you did not complete grades 9-12 in a Canadian high school

How do I meet the English language requirement?

​

• You have completed/are completing four or more years of full-time study in an English language school located in a country where the dominant language is English

OR

• You complete an English language test via Duolingo or IELTS

Taking a Course in Private School

The private school is responsible for:

- uploading your credit(s) to OUAC

- sending a copy of your credit(s) to GW

- ensuring the credit is received by GW by June 5th, 2026

*** If the credit is needed for graduation, your Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) cannot be granted until documentation is received. OUAC/OCAS will indicate you have not graduated (even if the course has been updated via the private school to OUAC/OCAS)
