Scheduling

  • The high school builds its master schedule based on the student class requests; the master schedule is then used to determine staffing needs and number of sections for the school year.

Scheduling Timeline

  • Feb 2 – Feb 16

Parents and students review Course Descriptions and Registration Information document and complete the Freshman Course Selection Tool.

  • Feb 16 – Feb 25

Counselors will meet with 8th grade students, answer questions, review registration form, and input course selections at CMS. Parents do not need to attend.

Weighted Grades

  • All freshman level courses have the same regular weight even though some of the courses are called “Honors”.
  • Certain CHS courses will carry a weighted GPA (Grade Point Average) value to give students a small boost to their GPA for earning a passing grade in a weighted class.
