Wynwood Discovery
North of Downtown Miami and west of Miami Beach, a Greater Miami neighborhood that was once a collection of warehouses has been transformed in recent years into one of the world’s hippest hangouts. Wynwood is perhaps best known as a hub of contemporary and street art. Both serious and casual collectors are welcome at more than 70 galleries, which sell pieces at all price points. Synonymous with the neighborhood are vibrant murals, which were originally commissioned by the neighborhood’s visionary developer, Tony Goldman, in the early 2000s. Rubell Museum Private Experience
The Rubells created their collection by looking at art, talking with artists, and trusting their instincts. They started collecting 54 years ago when Don was in medical school and Mera was teaching at Head Start, and continue to follow the same practice today, now with their son Jason. They acquired their first work after a studio visit and were only able to do so by paying on a modest weekly installment plan. Art became the Rubells’ passion and, since that first acquisition in 1965 they’ve built one of the most significant and far-ranging collections of contemporary art in the world, now encompassing 7,200 works by more than 1,000 artists—and still growing.

During this program, you will be following your Naturalists in your own vehicle throughout the Park. There is a maximum of three (3) vehicles allowed on the program to ensure a safe caravan and small group. This half-day guided trip ventures out across Biscayne Bay on a 28′ to 31′ powerboat. Your captain chooses the Biscayne snorkeling sites or snorkel site based on the day’s weather and sea conditions to ensure safety and an optimal snorkeling experience. Each trip visit two locations of one of the following site types: In the open ocean, snorkel around patch coral reef which is full of color and diversity. On a bayside snorkel near the mangroves, which are home to many species of juvenile sea life and fish, you see soft corals and sea sponges.

This full-day trip sail east across the bay for several hours before stopping ashore at Boca Chita or Adams Key. Kayak or paddleboard from the boat dock on the island to swim, explore using paddle craft, or snorkel. Bring your lunch to eat at a shady picnic table on the island. Please note: We do not go to the reefs on the Atlantic side for snorkeling, instead we snorkel in the calm waters within the bay and alongside the fringes of the mangroves. Catch & Cook Experience
Catch your dinner and have it prepared and served in a local restaurant. Spend several hours in the protected waters of the beautiful mangrove backcountry of the 10,000 islands foraging for your food just as the natives and early settlers did long ago. You’ll be led by a local guide that will take you to the 10,000 Islands in search of your dinner. Spotted trout, snook, redfish, drum, and snapper are all very abundant in this area. Blue & stone crab can also be found and collected in season. When you get back to the dock your guide will clean your catch and send you off to the restaurant!
