Independent Choice Artwork

We were inspired by the creative process of cut-leaf artist Lorenzo Duran, from Guadalajara, Spain. We learned about how artists get inspired and come up with ideas in many different ways and brainstormed how we can come up with our own ideas. Artists were asked to create an artwork using materials and subject of their choice.

This art was made by my play-doh, I used stencils to make some of the shapes. I really enjoyed mushing and smashing all the clay into one whole and making shapes. Get it or not!

Anything Can Happen

Before I decided on a subject, I decided to use colored sharpies. I wanted to use them because they have really bright color, and they’re great for coloring in substantially large areas. Then I looked around my room for a subject. I decided on a model of a unicorn, shown above. I chose it because unicorns represent happiness and fun, and I think we all need some happiness, especially due to the situation we’re in. The hardest part of “Anything Can Happen” was probably when I had to draw the unicorn’s back leg (the one on the unicorn’s right). It was very challenging to make sure it curved and bent in the same way as the model unicorn. My favorite part of this artwork is probably the glitter frame. I covered an area on the paper with mod podge, sprinkled some glitter on top of it, and then coated it with mod podge again so that the glitter wouldn’t fall off. I really enjoyed making this artwork, and I’m really glad about the way it turned out!

American Flag Treat

This a friendship necklace I weaved together. I weaved it the style called candy stripe, that’s why I put treat in the name. My friend helped me with the name. Also, it it red white and blue, like the american flag. I chose this artwork because I loved to make it. It was very fun.

Australian shepherd

I drew a australian shepherd with black and beige spots with blue eyes and a red bandana. My favorite part is the bandana.
