Tips for improvement

In Class

1. Pay attention in class

2. Take notes all the time

3. Ask questions, get help in class

4. Do/try class-work when assigned

At Home:

1. Set a specific time/place to study

2. Work with a partner/study buddy

3. Do the HW on the same day, don’t wait until the due day.

4. Before the HW, review notes (available on share drive)

5. Study more examples in the textbook if necessary

6. Attempt different problems than the assignment. Do extra problems, some old problems 7. Attempt every problem on the HW

8. Be ready for a quiz every day. Study for quiz/test

9. Attend after school tutorials or see teachers during tutorial periods when needed.

Next Day(s):

1. Ask questions on the HW the next day

2. Study for the test (review notes, go over HW, Old quizzes)

3. Make a summary of the Chapter/Unit

4. Do test corrections. Fix the mistakes on the quiz/test

5. Try to take a make-up if possible

Most important: Try to enjoy the learning process as you do these steps.

Options for Next Year

If passing Geometry with an A/B, you might want to opt for Algebra II/Trig next year, then skip PreCal (if pass Algebra II/Trig with an A/B) to take AB Calculus a year after that.

If passing Geometry with an C/D, you might want to opt for Algebra II next year, then PreCal a year after that.

Unfortunately, if failing Geometry (either one or both of the semesters), you might want to retake Geometry again over the summer, then take Algebra II next year.
