Looking forward

Masterclass design:

  • 2000-5000 events total
  • Students examine sets of 50 events/pair; 20-40 students/masterclass; ≤5 mc/videocon
  • Each set has mix of signal events, vertex background, recoil background
  • Students choose signal events, transfer data to shared spreadsheet
  • Use combined results to find beam energy, probe nucleus, probe interaction of energized proton with matter; draw conclusions
  • Google sheets should work; more advanced method maybe better
