Lab Safety Awareness Week: Hands on Training and Demonstrations

Overview

  • A three-day event focused on practical safety skills and awareness
  • Includes training sessions on fire extinguisher use, the importance of PPE (partnership with CINTAS), and gas safety demonstrations in the lab

Impact

  • Raises awareness of safety protocols among students and employees
  • Enhances practical skills which are critical for lab safety

Annual Laboratory Audits

  • Graduate and undergraduate students pair up to conduct thorough audits
  • Students complete required ENHS training and receive support from safety professionals with on-site guidance

  • Weekly seminars where students share and discuss safety practices and community-related topics
  • Promotes a culture of open communication and continuous learning among students, faculty, and visiting speakers
