GPA minimum of 2.8 required for incoming students

​

100% of all graduating students over the past 2 years have continued to pursue post-secondary education across the country including such schools as Northeastern, UC Berkeley, UC San Diego, San Diego State, UCLA, NYU, etc.

Policy on External Courses

• The following policy applies to students in the graduating Class of 2025 and younger
• Up to 30 high school credits from external community college, state college or accredited public or private institutions may be transferred to a student transcript
• Completed coursework can be placed on a student transcript if it meets ONE of the following conditions:
• It is needed to meet graduation requirements
• It is needed to meet minimum college entrance requirements
• It has been taken for remediation purposes
• Students will receive the same letter grade for high school as is granted by the external institution
• The external course must be taken from an institution that is WASC or otherwise regionally accredited (all local community colleges are WASC accredited)

Policy on External Courses Continued

• An extra grade point will be awarded only if the same Honors / AP course is available at SHS
• Community college courses will not receive an extra grade point
• Students will not receive credit for external coursework (EXCEPT for remediation) in the following areas:
• English
• Social Studies
• Introductory Biology
• Students must complete the external course agreement form, including R-40 counselor and/or administrator signature before enrolling in the course.
