ZTC Feedback

Anyone taking ZTC classes this semester? Did you know it was ztc before registering or find out when you attended class? How do you feel about ztc?

Feedback from Students

  • One didn’t know before enrolling, one did and it’s why the class was picked class
  • Some worry about the quality of a free textbook (Andi tried to explain that free doesn’t equal bad quality especially in the context of Open Educational Resources.) Resources for students to explore:

ZTC option:

The Zero Textbook Costs designation and logo are added to any course that provides free access to all required instructional materials. These are typically shared with students through Canvas. Courses that are designated as ZTC may still require students to purchase supplemental materials such as lab coats, a calculator, art supplies, etc. See full definitions and searching tips on the Zero Textbook Costs page of the college website.

Program Map Feedback

Location: Program Map Section of CRC Website

Feedback from Students

  • Definitions are clear
  • Z with notation at the bottom along with the symbol on the class schedule is sufficient explanation
  • Some felt ZTC is more distracting than a single letter, others liked the full ZTC subscript

Feedback from Students

  • Seeing the clutter of ZTC in this example caused those in favor of ZTC on previous slide (program maps) to be more in favor of just the Z. All agreed it should be consistent on the two areas
