The Spiritual Desires

يمتلئ الذين يعرفون الله بكل أنواع الأفكار الصالحه

وبإشتياقهم يزدرون بالأرضيات

ولكن مثل هؤلاء الناس نادرا ما يرضى الناس عنهم

حتى كثير من الأغنياء لايقفون عند حد كراهيتهم

بل يسخرون منهم ويذمونهم . الأنبا أنطونيوس

Those who know God are filled

with all sorts of ideas of righteousness.

And by their longing, they despise the earthly things.

But those people are rarely accepted by others,

even many of the rich people do not just hate them, but they also mock them and speak badly about them.

إن أردت ألا تمتنع عن الصلاة فلا تكف عن الشوق إليها

فالاشتياق هو استمرار الصلاة .. القديس اغسطينوس

If you want to refrain from not praying,

do not stop longing for it

as longing for it is in itself

a continuation of praying

متى رأيت إنساناً محتاجاً إلى شفاء روحى أو جسدى ،

لا تقل فى نفسك أن هذا من عمل فلان أن ينقذه من شره ويشفيه .

فإننى أنا علمانى ولى زوجة واولاد وهذا من عمل الكهنة والرهبان .

Whenever you see someone in need

for a spiritual or a physical healing,

don’t think in yourself saying :

this is someone’s else task to save him

from his wickedness and to heal him ...

I have a wife and kids to take care of

And this task of healing

is the job of priests and monks.

أجبنى يا هذا ، هل لو وجدت وعاء ً مملوء ً ذهباً تقول فى نفسك :

لمَ لا يأخذ هذا الوعاء فلان أو فلان ...

بل تبادر كالذئب الخاطف وتأخذه قبل أى انسان

ليكن لك هذا الاشتياق بالنسبة لاخوتك الساقطين ،

Tell me something: if you find a dish full of gold,

would you say to yourself: let someone else take it ...

Most probably you will grab it quickly like a wolf

and put your hands on it before someone else does.

Likewise, long for your sinful brothers to be healed,

واضعاً فى نفسك أنك وجدت كنزاً ثميناً جداً

وهو اعتناؤك بأمر خلاص أخيك

هوذا الله نفسه يقول على فم رسوله

إنك إن أنقذت إنساناً من الضلالة، تخلص نفساً من الموت !!

القديس يوحنا ذهبى الفم

believing that you have found a very precious treasure which is taking care

of your brother’s salvation.

God Himself said on His prophets’ mouths:

If you save a person from being astray,

you are rescuing a soul from perishing!!

لان الجسد يشتهي ضد الروح و الروح ضد الجسد و هذان يقاوم احدهما الاخر حتى تفعلون ما لا تريدون (غل 5 : 17)

For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish (Gal 5 : 17)

شهوات الجسد:

لان كل ما في العالم شهوة الجسد و شهوة العيون و تعظم المعيشة ليس من الاب بل من العالم. و العالم يمضي و شهوته و اما الذي يصنع مشيئة الله فيثبت الى الابد.(1يو 2 : 16 ، 17 )

And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever (1Jo 2 : 17)

شهوات الجسد:

و لكني ارى ناموسا اخر في اعضائي يحارب ناموس ذهني و يسبيني الى ناموس الخطية الكائن في اعضائي (رو 7 : 23)

But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members (Rom 7 : 23)

شهوات الجسد:

The Body Lusts

و لكن كل واحد يجرب اذا انجذب و انخدع من شهوته. ثم الشهوة اذا حبلت تلد خطية و الخطية اذا كملت تنتج موتا (يع 1 : 14، 15)

But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death (Jam 1:14-15)

ميل .. (للمال – الأكل – الجنس – الكرامة)

Tendency .. (for money – food – sex – dignity)

An urging desire

تنفيذ للشهوات

Execution

تعود و تطبع .. و سيطرة

Getting accustomed.. becoming a habit.. controlling
