SERVICES AND ACTIVITIES FEE (SAF): HOW IT WORKS

The fees paid by students help offset the operating expenses of HHC. As such, students get a wide range of benefits while enrolled at the UW:

  • Exclusive access – 99% needing a same-day visit are seen within 24 hours; primary care wait time for appointments is just days
  • For FY27, out-of-pocket cost for most visits is pre-paid by the SAF, once per quarter
  • Consultation with insurance navigators.
  • Nurse advice, including after-hours by phone.
  • Counseling on sexually transmitted infections, contraception, and reproductive health.
  • Safer sex and harm-reduction supplies (condoms, lube, naloxone, fentanyl test strips)
