There were several factors that influenced the research and inspiration behind the event portal design :

1. Understanding the needs of the user who will be accessing the event portal is crucial.
2. UX design focuses on the user’s journey through the portal. The design was easy to navigate and visually appealing.
3. The design was functional and served the purpose of event portal such as registration, ticket sales , schedule management and more.
4. The event portal was accessible to wide range of users with many options of event category.

Challenges faced

Creating a event portal can be challenging and rewarding task. Here are some challenges that we encountered while making this project :

​

1. One of the biggest challenge was to create a user friendly project. To make sure that user can quickly find the events and register for them

​

2. Keeping track of event listings and ensuring that they were up to date was a bit challenging . To deal with this problem we created a system to manage event submission before they appear on site .

​

3. Dealing with technical problem was the main problem , event portal may encounter technical issues that need to be resolved quickly.

​

Overall creating an event portal can be a complex and challenging task.

Student on signing up enter their respective details to register themselves and their profile gets created displaying all their achievements, skills, interests and college details.

SOCIETY RECRUITERS CAN EASILY REVIEW AND MANAGE APPLICATIONS

Information entered by the student is stored, processed and displayed as a database that makes recruitment easy and help the society cores to access applications, filter out students based on certain criteria and also manage details efficiently.

Status of selection/final date of result of a participant can be viewed on the app portal to avoid messaging to the team leads. They can also track the status of their application being processed and know about further dates of selection process.

Students can buy subscription plans for added features like one to one guidance from team heads for different projects, give your ideas and plans for events directly to the organisers etc.

Students can purchase college societies merchandise directly from the app. At time of events society leads can collect funds or sell their personalised products using the app ‘EKAM’.

Societies can also advertise for their sponsors and also engage students for performing task through ‘EKAM’. This would help society in getting good sponsors for their upcoming events.

Societies working for social cause like Enactus, Rotaract Club can raise their funds by collecting donations online from their peers and college students.

INNOVATIONS

• Timeline Tab : Students get access to timeline of different events, important seminars organised by societies, fun activities, interviews, and orientations on this tab. This helps them to manage their time and study efficiently.

• A separate profile for society representatives to manage , handle applications and post messages about upcoming events, answer to student’s query, keep updating their society dashboard.

​

• Scheduling Interviews and GD from the app itself and notifying students about the same, slots to be displayed on the society application tracker tab.

​

• Students can view society past events on respective society page and also ask their query through chat portal.

​
