for Foreign Scholarship Student

Rights for Foreign Scholarship Students

Funding Rights

Foreign/International students who are accepted at UIN Salatiga (with UIN Salatiga scholarship) are entitled to receive funding from UIN Salatiga (for the top 5 students from each country), including:

  1. Undergraduate Program Funding Rights (Bachelor)
  2. Single Tuition Fee (UKT)
  3. Assistance and consultation regarding immigration regulations;
  4. Campus facilities in accordance with applicable regulations;
  5. Campus orientation;
  6. Airport/station shuttle facilities for arrival and departure in Semarang and Solo.
  7. Indonesian for Speakers of Other Languages (BIPA) course
  8. Minor Health Care
  9. City/Campus Tour (once a year)
  10. Housing
  11. Monthly Allowance (USD 50)

b) Master Program Funding Rights

c) Doctorate Program Funding Rights

  10. Housing, specifically for doctoral program with the following conditions: 1 single type room

Emergency Situations Rights

In an emergency situation, Foreign/International Students are entitled to receive services including:

  1. Assistance as victims of unlawful acts;
  2. Reporting and coordinating emergency situations with the Embassy/Consulate of the home country in terms of natural disasters, pandemics, prohibitions, conflicts;
  3. Having the right to guarantee physical and mental security from the authorities (local police officers); such as the provision of safe houses/shelters and logistics related to emergency situations.

Obligations for Foreign Scholarship Students

Foreign/international students at UIN Salatiga are responsible for the following obligations:

  1. Finance;
  2. Academic;
  3. Law and Culture;
  4. Language Training;
  5. Participated in International Students Orientation in Indonesia.

Student Funding Obligations

Foreign/International students who are accepted at UIN Salatiga must bear their own expenses which include the following costs:

    • Visa, Stay Permit (ITAS) and other immigration related fees;
    • Transportation to and from the home country as well as the daily transportation;
    • Monthly Living Expenses (beyond USD 50);
    • Cost of Completion of Thesis/Thesis/Dissertation;
    • Health Insurance;
    • Graduation;
    • Seminars / Colloquiums;
    • Journal Publication;
    • Additional Housing Costs
    • Family allowance.

Student Academic Obligations

Foreign/International students who are accepted at UIN Salatiga are required to carry out the following points:

  1. Completed the longest study;
  2. 8 (eight) semesters or 4 (four) years for the Undergraduate Program (S1);
  3. 4 (four) semesters or 2 (two) years for the Masters Program (S2); And
  4. 6 (six) semesters or 3 (three) years for the Doctoral Program (S3).

2. Comply with all provisions of laws and regulations in the Republic of Indonesia;

3. Comply with all the rules and regulations stipulated by UIN Salatiga )where the education program takes place, maintain a good name, respect local culture and society;

4. Sign a study agreement;

5. Provide regular academic progress reports to each faculty/postgraduate leader;

6. Have a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.00 per semester.

Legal and Cultural Obligations

  1. Periodically check the validity period of passports, Vitas and ITAS;
  2. Students are required to report the active period of their Kitas no later than 2 months before the end date;
  3. Students must respect the culture in their study environment;
  4. Students must respect culture, wisdom, customs, beliefs, and local norms that are trusted by the people in the city where they study.
  5. It is mandatory for undergraduate students not to get married while studying at UIN Salatiga

Obligation to Attend Language Training

  1. Every new foreign/international student (S1, S2, and S3) is required to take an Indonesian language course which is conducted for a maximum of 2 (two) semesters or at least has obtained a minimum title of A2 (Pre-Intermediate/Elementary/Basic) on the certificate of completion of the Indonesian Language Course for Foreign Speakers (BIPA) organized by the Language Development Technical Unit (UPTPB) UIN Salatiga and the Faculty/Graduate School;
  2. In case that Foreign/International Students cannot meet the predicate threshold in point 1, then:
  3. the follow-up in learning Indonesian is handed over to the respective Faculties/Graduate School;;
  4. Indonesian language proficiency education will continue to be carried out until these students obtain a minimum predicate standard by providing assistance from related units.

Obligation to Participate in Foreign/International Student Orientation

  1. Participate in orientation activities for the introduction of foreign/international students to introduce academic procedures;
  2. Participate in activities related to religious moderation and Indonesianness.

Termination of Students

  1. Foreign/International students can be dismissed if they cannot carry out the obligations regulated in these technical guide, namely as follows:
  2. Having reached the study deadline but has not finished yet;
  3. For undergraduate students it is proven that they have married while studying at UIN Salatiga;
  4. For Master and Doctorale Program students it is proven that they have married an Indonesian citizen;
  5. For two consecutive semesters have a Cumulative GPA of less than 3.00;
  6. Resigned for certain reasons;
  7. Violating the provisions of the laws and regulations in force in Indonesia;
  8. Violating the agreement that has been aggreed;
  9. Pass away.

2. In the case of terminating foreign/international students as referred to in point 1, foreign/international students who receive scholarships/finance from UIN Salatiga and if they still continue their studies, the cost of completing the study must be paid independently by the student.

3. The decision to terminate foreign/international students is determined by the Chancellor’s decision of UIN Salatiga.

Foreign Student Dormitory Residence Rules

Dormitory Rules (1)

  • Residents can access the dormitory between 00:00~24:00. However, residents are still subject to a curfew so they will not disturb the surrounding environment. No noise after 10 P.M.

① Residents are to aim at public safety and welfare, and follow rules to maintain academic atmosphere.

② Residents are supposed to follow rules on safety management and be responsible for fire prevention and other possible accidents.

➂ Residents are strive to preserve the dormitory facilities and rental materials.

➃ Residence are to strive for theft prevention.

⑤ Residents are to obey instructions and cooperate for inspections, cleaning and tidying.

  • Residents are not allowed to change residence without approval. Unavoidable changes due to medical condition need submission of application and approval from the Head of of International Cooperation Center of UIN Salatiga.

All common properties cannot be used exclusively or moved without approval.

Dormitory Rules (2)

Article 7(Compensation) Residents are to compensate for any intentional or unintentional damage made on dormitory facilities or rent materials.

Article 8(Responsibility to Report) Residents are supposed to report to administrative office when incidents below take place. (including penalty points)

  1. Accidents caused or expected due to fire, collapse of building, gas effluence
  2. Fire-inducing action within dormitory(cooking, smoking in undesignated area, possession of electric heater or any action hindering public safety and causing disorder(drinking, smoking within dormitory)
  3. Finding unapproved guest within dormitory
  4. Other incidents which may cause similar level of damage with above-stated cases.

Article 9 (Compliance Details)

All residents are supposed to obey the following terms and dormitory rule form is to be submitted.

Article 10 (Residence Management)

① Residents are to keep one’s residence and common area clean and preserve facilities.

② Residents are to actively participate in regular cleaning up for maintenance of pleasant living environment.

Dormitory Rules (3)

Article 11(Inspection)

① All residents are to actively participate in inspections on personnel, safety, hygiene and facility status.

④ Any other kinds of inspections shall be enforced by suitable subject of management.

Article 12 (Dormitory Check-out)

① Rent properties of dormitory should be returned upon check-out, and check-out inspection should follow.

② Disloyal cooperation to above can cause penalty and future residence can be restricted.

③ Any individual property left in dormitory after the allowed check-out date can be processed by dormitory manager without asking excuse.

Article 13 (Reward)

Any exemplary behavior and contribution to dormitory environment improvement of residents shall be rewarded via reward points or other suitable ways.

Article 14 (Penalty)

① Any disobedience to dormitory rules and regulations may cause eviction or disciplinary measure accordingly.

② Disciplinary Committee shall decide the details of eviction and disciplinary measure(kind, time period, suspension, etc).
