HOW TO EARN CREDITS

  • Must pass class with a “D” or higher (for graduation)
    • A grade of “C” or higher is needed for 4 year college entry. Students should attend summer school or register for Edgenuity to remediate ”D” grades if planning to attend a 4-year college after high school.
  • Earn 1 credit each semester per class

(example: Physics 1 = 1 credit, Physics 2 = 1 credit)

  • Each semester = 6 credits
  • There are 8 semesters in high school = 48 credits (44 needed for graduation)
  • Remediation = Summer School, Edgenuity, Extended Day

ATTENDANCE

Students must be in school to learn!

When absent from school, you should...

  1. Look at teacher websites (Google Classroom, Canvas, etc.) to see what was missed
  2. Email teacher
  3. Upon return see your teacher about missing assignments or tests. Get clear due dates!

If a student must miss school, a parent/guardian needs to fill out the Attendance Google Form.

If leaving school early for illness/appointment, student must have a blue slip.

ACADEMIC SUCCESS AND SUPPORTS

  • Use planner! Write down all assignments DAILY. *If no homework, write what you are working on so you can review/study at home!
  • Spend a minimum of 20 minutes studying/reviewing/practicing for each academic class per night!
  • Complete all class and home assignments on time and to the best of your ability EVEN if the assignment is not used for a grade!
  • Ask for help when you do not understand something! Seek your teacher’s assistance and see if there are tutoring opportunities at lunch or after school.
  • Attend Tutoring: See “Class Of” Google Classroom for tutoring opportunities
  • Check grades (and attendance) in PowerSchool at least once week. See teacher immediately if there are any discrepancies in grades.

  • Students should maintain their own Community Service records.
