Restoration Projects | Southeast Quadrant

4

We are excited about our progress!

This major restoration project has brought several visible improvements to the SE Quadrant, including a brand-new pedestrian-friendly entrance at the corner of Boulevard and Atlanta Avenue, which offers increased separation from vehicular traffic, and will make it easier and safer for visitors to enjoy the park.

The new welcome plaza, where cobblestone and permeable pavers have replaced old asphalt, features a beautiful decorative medallion built of granite, identical to the one at the Milledge welcome plaza.

We have repaired clogged inlets that caused drainage issues, made the path  more pedestrian-friendly, expanded greenspace and added new benches along the path. The new Educational and Gathering Plaza at the base of Fort Walker is complete and new landscaping has been installed. The plaza, which offers stunning views of the Atlanta skyline, will feature interpretive signage, sharing the rich and complex history of Grant Park.

Canopy Soirée

5

The Canopy Soirée was a success!

It looks like we all had a blast at the Fifth Annual Canopy Soirée! The food was delicious, the dance floor was absolutely hopping, and it was very energizing to see everyone come together to have fun for such a great cause! We are beyond grateful to our Host Committee, our sponsors, and everyone who attended, bought raffle tickets, and showed up to support the Grant Park Conservancy.

Proceeds of this year’s Soirée will be used to support the exciting Southeast Quadrant renovation, care for the park’s tree canopy, and bring the Summer Shade Festival back in 2025.
