Purpose

The purpose of a comprehensive school counseling program is for students to realize the connection between success in school today and success in their lives and careers in the future.

Students learn to understand themselves, explore the world around them, establish goals for the future, and make plans to achieve goals, as they realize the role education plays in this process.

Responsive Services

Responsive services address the immediate concerns of students. The purpose is prevention and intervention regarding a number of issues students bring to school. These can include divorce, abuse, loss, anxiety, depression, alcohol/drug abuse, suicide, coping, and peer or family issues.
