Here’s what we are working on!

Letterland

Unit 22: ‘au’ and ‘aw’- The /aw/ sound is used for both spellings, and can be found in words like saw and pause.

Please be sure to have your student focus on practicing the spelling patterns of these words, rather than memorizing.

Reading

We will continue our EL unit entitled “The Secret World of Pollination”. Students will build their research skills and science knowledge through a study of the secret world of plants and pollinators. They will learn that the role of insect pollinators is to help plants grow and survive. They will also write an informative writing piece using supplemental texts about specific plants and pollinators.

Math

We will continue subtracting 3 digit numbers with the place value drawing method and number lines, and then move on to solving word problems within 100 with unknowns in all positions.

Social Studies

We will continue our economics unit. The students will learn about needs, wants, scarcity, and ways that resources impact the production of products
