As we enter our 35th year of hosting the Cultural Fair, we thank you for your participation! The Cultural Fair is one of the events that makes our school community so special.

The Borel Cultural Fair is designed to promote the San Mateo Foster City School District’s core value of respect and better understanding of differences among students and staff. School and District rules apply to displays and the activity. A collaborative team will review the cultural items displayed on the background board prior to the food fair and reach out to booth sponsors if we have any questions.

Wed. March 25: Set up 2-5pm, Food Fair open 5-7pm

In preparation for the food fair, please do the following during the set up time:

  • We will provide you with a plastic tablecloth to cover your table.
  • Bring your food items to “sell.” We recommend 125-175 small appetizer-sized servings. Visitors purchase tickets ($1 each) at the door when they enter. You will set the price for your food item(s) - usually 1-2 tickets for small items or 5-6 for a full plate. Please provide a sign for your booth indicating cost of item(s). We will provide you with a container to collect tickets. No money handling required!
  • We will provide you with a supply of plates, bowls, cups, paper towels and food service gloves that you will have the opportunity to pre-select via Google form before the event.

We are aware that, in these challenging times, many of us are navigating difficult political landscapes, global tensions, and local uncertainties. These realities are never far from our minds, and we acknowledge the complexities that shape our world today. However, we believe that events like our Cultural Fair offer us a powerful opportunity to shift the focus towards what unites us rather than what divides us.

Thank you for your understanding as we work to ensure that we can continue this beloved tradition.
