SIMPLE SELECTION DESIGN
Organizer review + student voting, without overcomplicating the process
All teams
submit 3-slide decks
Organizer review
FuturAIScholar Team (DECIL) / AMD reviewers score build readiness, AI workflow quality, startup potential, and AMD compute fit.
Student voting
Classmates vote on usefulness, creativity, workflow clarity, and projects they would actually use.
Final live demo roster
Organizer-selected and student-selected teams can both receive visibility. Onsite AMD devices go to teams with the strongest local/edge compute need.

SIMPLIFIED PATHS
One submission, two selection signals, two AMD resource options
Organizer-selected demos
Chosen for build readiness, startup potential, AI workflow quality, technical feasibility, and AMD compute fit.
Benefit: priority demo slot + possible AMD/FuturAIScholar Team (DECIL) follow-up.
Student-selected demos
Chosen by class voting for usefulness, creativity, clarity, and real student interest.
Benefit: audience-backed demo slot + student choice recognition.
AMD resources
Cloud credit: every applicant may apply.
Onsite device rental: selected teams only, free computing power resources through 7/4 for strong local/edge/privacy/latency needs.
The final roster may combine organizer-selected and student-selected teams. Cloud credit can continue after demo day; onsite device access ends on 7/4.

STUDENT DELIVERABLE
Submission: a focused 3-slide mini-deck
Slide 1
Problem + user
Who has the problem?
What repetitive task hurts?
How frequent or urgent is it?
What is the current workaround?
Slide 2
AI-native workflow
What does the AI actually do?
What tools/data/models are needed?
Where does human review happen?
What is the first demo output?
Slide 3
One-person company + AMD fit
How can one person run this?
Why local AMD or AMD cloud helps?
What can you build by June 27?
What makes it startup-worthy?
Optional appendix: prototype link, screenshots, short demo video, GitHub, or workflow output.

AMD RESOURCE ACCESS
Cloud credit is open to applicants; onsite device rental provides free computing power resources
3 onsite AMD device rentals
Selected teams only. Provides free computing power resources for local LLM inference, private data workflows, vision models, robotics, latency-sensitive demos, offline agents, or edge AI. Available through 7/4.
$100 AMD cloud credit
Everyone who applies can request credit through the AMD AI Developer Program. Best for larger model testing, hosted agents, cloud deployment, and compute-heavy prototypes. Can continue after 6/27.
Teams using onsite devices should show evidence by June 24

Student voting awards
Student Choice · Most Useful Product · Best AI Workflow · Most Creative · Best AMD Compute Use
Students may vote for up to 3 projects, but cannot vote for their own team.
Selection ≠ guaranteed investment. Strong projects may be invited for AMD/FuturAIScholar Team (DECIL) follow-up, mentorship, showcase opportunities, or separate incubator/investment review.

GUARDRAILS
Operating principles for a fair, high-quality demo day
Fairness
All teams submit. All teams can appear in the gallery. Live demo slots are curated based on transparent criteria.
Build realism
Selected teams should show a prototype or workflow proof-of-concept, not a fully launched company.
IP caution
Students should avoid public disclosure of confidential IP or sensitive technical details they are not comfortable sharing.
Future support clarity
Awards, presentation, or resource allocation do not guarantee investment. AMD/FuturAIScholar Team (DECIL) follow-up, mentorship, or support is separate from any investment review.
Compute fit
Onsite AMD device rentals are reserved for teams with real local/edge/privacy/latency needs and provide free computing power resources through 7/4.
Time discipline
6–8 teams, about eight minutes each. Moderation must be strict to preserve voting and feedback time.

Final recommendation
Run a curated build-to-demo funnel.
Start selection early, make AMD cloud credit available to applicants, allocate onsite devices before the build period, and let only selected teams demo live with enough time to show real evidence.
