Can I repeat an elective?

Generally the answer is no. We encourage students to try new electives. Those taking an elective for the for the first time will receive priority.

Will all electives run?

This depends how many students choose that particular elective. If only one student chooses a particular elective then it may not run - this is why you must complete all 5 preferences for electives.

Do I still need to complete this even if I know I am leaving?

Yes!

What if I think I will exit EAP/SI?

If and when you exit your counselor will talk to you and your parents about choosing a Modern Language and will update your course requests at that time.

What if I change my mind?

Choose carefully. Sometimes this happens. Go and talk to your counselor or Mrs. Pekin. If there is still space we might allow you to change.

What if I have applied for Math or English honors and it is only showing regular Math or English?

Once we know who successfully applied for Honors Mrs. Pekin will manually move you across into Math and/or English honors. However, we won't know until mid-April.

What if I do not know if I am leaving?

Click yes and complete course registration

What if I take both a Modern Language and EAP/SI?

Mrs. Pekin will manually enroll you in your Modern Language. Your Modern Language will not show in course registration. Talk to Mrs. Pekin

Why do I have to choose five electives?

Sometimes not all electives are offered due to low numbers or some electives fill up very fast or the schedule does not allow for the combination you chose so you may end up with your 4th or 5th choice sometimes.

Do I have to take a music elective?

Yes if you are in G5 and G6.

No if you are in G7 and G8.
