The report on the library visit by the NAAC peer team.�Conversation Details:

  • How many students visit the Library?
  • Response: Around 100 to 120 users visit every day.

  • How can you issue the books?
  • Response: Using Barcode scanner in SOUL 3.0 software. (Accession register checked)

 

  • Do you have an INFLIBNET (e-Resources) membership?
  • Response: Yes, our institute has been a continuing member since 2017. And explained the subscription amount of Rs. 5900/-, in which 18% GST was included. As our institution is covering either 12B or 2F, the above amount was paid by KCG (Knowledge Consortium of Gujarat—Government of Gujarat) to be incurred.

  • How many books are issued to students?
  • Response: Two books per student; if students want to use books for another 14 days, we will renew the books. (They verify this matter with the transaction system of the SOUL 3.0 software.) They verify the coding and decoding system of the student ID barcode as well.

  • How can you collect a library book if the book returns late?
  • Response: The library takes this type of book with a late fine of Rs. 2 per day. Then the collection fine is submitted to the college administration department.

  • What is the process of book procurement?
  • Response: As per the condition of the grant letter, the library asks the HOD of all the departments to prepare the list of required books for their department. Then the library department purchases books as per the condition of the grant letter. The budget for the periodicals depends upon the requirement of the number of periodicals; the required amount is sanctioned on the recommendations of the Library Committee.
  • Other Questions: Like Library stock taking procedure, your future plan for the library development, Limitation of the library, About Mission Books etc.
  • Response: The librarian answered all the questions properly to the peer team.

Oral Recommendations made by the NAAC Peer Team

  • To increase the number of language literature books with the help of the faculty members.
  • Arrange the rare book section as per its value and importance.
  • To increase the number of language journals (at least 5 per language) with the help of the faculty members.
  • To start the Xerox facility for the student.
  • To preserve the rare book section by AC.
