SMARTPASS

SmartPass is a digital pass system.

Students must utilize this app instead of a traditional paper hall pass when traveling to the restroom, office, guidance suite or any other location in the building.

Students found outside the classroom without an electronic hall pass will be considered cutting class.

Hall Monitors can view everyone in the school that is on a pass.

All passes have STUDENT IDENTIFICATION PICTURES.

Hall monitors can verify students are supposed to be in the halls.

CELL PHONES

Students are required to place their cell phones in the classroom phone caddy immediately upon entering the room and before taking their seat.

Phones must remain in the caddy for the entire class period.

Students are not permitted to have their phones in their possession during class. Phones must be off or on silent.

Violations of this policy will result in disciplinary action as follows:

  • 1st Offense: Verbal warning, confiscated and returned at the end of the period. Parent contact by the teacher
  • 2nd Offense: Confiscated, parent contact by the teacher, turned in to the office and returned at the end of the day.
  • 3rd Offense: Confiscated and the parent must pick up the phone.
  • 4th Offense: The phone must be turned in at the main office upon arrival and may be picked up at the end of the day for the remainder of the semester.
  • Further/Other Offenses: Office Referral - Saturday Detention, In-School and Out of School Suspension.

Acceptable Cell Phone Use: Students are permitted to use their phones before and after school, during study halls, lunch and in the hallways between classes.

PTHS is not responsible for lost or stolen devices.

Phones are a non-essential resource during school and are not needed for educational purposes. iPads have been provided to students for educational needs in the classroom.
