English Language Arts

Unit 3: Family Stories

Week 3: Describing Story Elements: Setting

Reading

We will learn how to identify the physical and social settings of family stories.

Phonological/Phonemic Awareness

Phoneme Manipulation in Two-Syllable Words (Adding, Deleting, or Substituting Sounds in Words)

Phonics/Word Study

Read and spell regular two-syllable words and compound words.

Writing

We will write narratives and focus on the physical and social settings.

Math

We will work on fact families and addition & subtraction..

Science/S.S

We will finish up our unit on the moon and stars. We will also work on some St. Patrick’s Day activities..

Please make sure your child has a water bottle AND snack at school. I still have many without.

Remove papers from Take Home Folders every night and make sure they return each day. Also, make sure you return the home reading pocket each day so we can log your child’s steps and exchange books.

Please make sure your child has shoes to change into every day so they do not have to track wetness and mud through our classroom and hallways. If it is rainy, have them wear rain boots if you have them!

Please be reading with your child so they can earn stickers for their gold medal!
