MEDICATION ASSISTED OPTIONS

1. Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT)

Naltrexone/Vivitrol

  • Naltrexone blocks effects of alcohol and opioids. Makes opiate drugs or alcohol less desirable and help to avoid a relapse.

  • Oral Naltrexone daily pill. Vivitrol a 1x/month injection. Both assist in treatment plan compliance.

  • Blood levels of Vivitrol may remain more stable than levels of oral naltrexone.
