Overview

  • IDOLiSH7 is a Japanese rhythm game developed by G2Studios and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment with music collaboration by Lantis for Android and iOS platforms, which first released in Japan on August 20, 2015.
  • It features character design by Arina Tanemura, and it has spawned several manga adaptations and novelizations.
  • An anime television series adaptation by Troyca aired from January to May 2018, and a second season aired from April to December 2020.
  • A third season aired from July 2021 to February 2023.
  • A fourth season has been announced on January 25, 2025.
  • The album Regality connected to the series became the first album credited to a male in-story character group to top the weekly Oricon Albums Chart.

Ryunosuke Tsunashi

  • He is a member of TRIGGER who is marketed to the public as wild and sexy with a playboy attitude.
  • He is actually a very shy and timid soul, who has a difficult time talking with women due to growing up with his brothers.
  • He's very kind and understanding to those younger than him, acting like an older brother to just about everyone.
  • He is a boy from the country who is constantly trying to tell people that he’s not as sexy as all those ads make him seem to please them.

  • He is the energetic and cute member of the duo, Re:vale, together with Yuki.

  • In reality, he simply wishes to be an idol that everyone loves.

  • He is both the leader of ŹOOĻ and one of its double centers.
  • He is the most initiative member of the group.
  • He is seen to be quite aggressive and brash towards others.
  • Despite his hate and personality, he is shown to be caring of his teammates and begins to value them more.

Tsumugi Takanashi

  • She is the protagonist whom the players take the role of in the game.
  • After freshly graduating from high school, she joins Takanashi Productions in her father’s steps and becomes the manager for IDOLiSH7.
  • She’s a strong girl who is positive no matter what comes her way.
  • She’s also has a bit of clumsy side and is almost as bad as keeping things a secret.
  • In the game, the player is able to change her given name.

Banri Ogami

  • He is a talented staff member at Takanashi Productions with an unknown past who keeps the agency running.
  • He is a calm and caring individual and feels very much like everyone's older brother.
  • He does what he can to help behind the scenes, but for one reason or another, won't do anything that puts him even remotely close to the spotlight.
  • He’s very invested in IDOLiSH7’s accomplishments.
  • He feels a great debt of gratitude toward Otoharu Takanashi for letting him join the agency.

Otoharu Takanashi

  • He is the president of Takanashi Productions and is Tsumugi’s father.
  • He is a very kind and big-hearted, though nonetheless shrewd businessman.
  • He cares very deeply for those that work under him and believes that treasuring them as people with their own wishes and dreams is the best road to success.
  • He has very high standards and won’t hesitate to put a stop to a project if he’s sure those involved have lost the passion they once had.
  • He still misses his wife dearly and considers his daughter a wonderful treasure that she left behind.

Kinako

  • It is a pet “rabbit” with Takanashi Productions.
  • It makes a distinct “Myuu” sound and tends to appear in unexpected places at unexpected times.
  • It is seen roaming the office and sometimes the dorm IDOLiSH7 share.
  • It’s well loved by Banri and others associated with Takanashi Productions.
  • It has also grown to be the mascot of Takanashi Productions.

Sosuke Yaotome

  • He is the president of Yaotome Production, to which TRIGGER is signed to.
  • Due to his past with Otoharu Takanashi, he has a particular hatred for Takanashi Productions and IDOLiSH7.
  • He is the father of Gaku but doesn’t have a good relationship with him.
  • He is calculating and almost cruel that he considers those that work under him as replaceable and expendable tools for his own personal use.
  • He’ll go to any lengths possible to destroy and erase anyone and everyone who goes against him or the talents he produces.

Kaoru Anesagi

  • She is a member of Yaotome Productions and serves as TRIGGER’s manager.
  • She's a very strong-willed individual who’s quick to jump to any extreme emotion at the drop of a pin.
  • She seems to be very heavily focused on the job to be done, and shares Sosuke Yaotome’s sentiments and morals in most (if not all) situations.
  • She does a top-rate job every time but has a strong temper.
  • She will snap a ballpoint pen in two with her bare hands when she is angry.

Rinto Okazaki

  • He has been Re:vale's manager since their debut and continues to support them.
  • He is also frequently nicknamed Okarin.
  • He is a kind and polite soul who seems to have retained his humility even after five years in the business.
  • He is a friendly and humble man who has a tendency to apologize for both his idols and his brother’s antics.
  • He isn't hesitant to put Re:vale into place whenever they cause too much trouble even though he is willing to put his all into supporting them.

Rintaro Okazaki

  • He is the president of Okazaki Agency and is Rinto Okazaki’s older brother.
  • He is a serious and cautious person with ambition, yet fairly calm and reasonable.
  • He can sometimes be childish and arrogant.
  • He says that he likes people and likes making them happy.
  • According to Yuki, it’s rare for people to enjoy talking to him, and the relationship between him and Yuki seems negative at times.

  • He is openly sadistic and enjoys watching conflict.
  • He also has a theatrical personality and uses exaggerated gestures to accompany what he's saying.

  • He has a drive for people to acknowledge him even though he doesn't admit it.
