Understanding

Cash Value Benefits (CVB)

  • What is CVB? – A WIC benefit for purchasing fresh, frozen, or canned fruits & vegetables.

  • Who Accepts CVB? – Only authorized WIC grocery vendors and authorized farmers/markets.

  • How It Works – Participants pay with their QR Code

  • WV WIC CVB Amounts – $26 for children, $47 for pregnant & postpartum participants, $52 for breastfeeding participants.

  • Available Year-Round – CVB benefits can be used any time, unlike seasonal FMNP benefits.

How to Become an Authorized FMNP Farmer/Market

  • Complete the 2025 FMNP application.
  • Attend a required FMNP training session.
  • Agree to all responsibilities for Farmers, Farmers’ Markets, and Roadside Stands as required by the USDA & WV WIC Program.
  • Submit a W-9 form and banking information to receive electronic payments.
  • Receive approval letter with Vendor ID number and vendor materials.

Setting Up Your FMNP Vendor Portal

  • Account Registration – Farmers create a vendor portal account.

  • Access Your Dashboard – Manage transactions, track redemptions.

  • Support Available – Contact CDP or FMNP staff for setup assistance.

  • QR Code Payments – Participants scan a QR code for purchases.
