A student is not greater than

The teacher, who gives lead;

A master also is above

The slave who must give heed.

As pupils, we would listen to

The One from Galilee;

He is the teacher, we believe,

Who holds our destiny. 

“You know that sparrows can be bought –

A penny for each pair;

Yet not one falls down from the sky

Outside of God’s great care.” 

We need not fear, for Jesus states

The truth about our worth;

We are of value, more by far

Than sparrows of the earth.

With confidence, enduring hope

We venture forth to be

The life that Jesus calls us to;

‘I hear, dear Lord. Send me.’
