Dual Enrollment Program Unit Limitations & Fees

You will not have to pay tuition or fees if you take 11 or fewer units per quarter in fall, winter or spring – or six or fewer in summer.

However, if you take more than 11 units in fall, winter or spring – or more than six units in summer – at De Anza, Foothill College or the two colleges combined, you will be charged tuition and full-time student fees. See our Fees at a Glance webpage.

33

34 of 42

Requesting to take more units...

STEP 1: Understand that you may be charged fees. See our Fees at a Glance webpage.

STEP 2: Indicate on your high school permission form that you’d like to request to take additional units. You’ll also need to upload a letter of support from your high school counselor.

You’ll want to tell us how you’ve prepared yourself for being a full-time college student while attending high school.

Remember: In general, you’ll need to devote 2 hours of studying for each hour of class meeting time.
