Prohibition on the Use of Single-Use Plastics during Weekends at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines
PUP concessionaires were required to transition from single-use plastics to paper-based alternatives. This is to decrease the amount of SUPs in the campus, encourage the use of appropriate alternatives and select recyclable solutions. The use of re-usable cups and/or food container by offering a discount on drinks and/or food purchased equivalent to the amount or price of plastic container was encouraged; drinks should be served without plastic straws; wooden drinks stirrers in food stalls in canteen should be used; and there should be a display of signages informing staff and students of this policy.
