Common Core Accelerated Math 6 2025-2026

Absent and Late Work Policy:

If you are absent, you will need to check google classroom first, then check in with Mrs. Min

Grades and Aeries

  • If you are “absent” because you are sick, you will have a week from when you return to school to turn in any work for full credit.
  • Absent students must check google classroom for what we did in class, to not fall behind.
  • You must show me your reports section of big ideas or aleks to verify the late or absent work so I can update your grade. You can do this during class time.

Homework and Classwork

  • Homework assignments will be assigned (Monday - Fridays) on bigideasmath.com., ALEKS.com., or on paper. They are due the next morning before school.
    • Late work will receive half credit.
  • The red workbook is used during class for independent practice after a lesson so please bring it to school DAILY.

Grades are based on a weighted scale. This is updated on a weekly basis.

  • Homework: 20%
  • Tests/Quizzes: 70%
  • Project/Class Participation: 10%

Citizenship category in the gradebook is currently set to 0% of the overall grade. However, a numerical value will still appear to reflect a student’s citizenship performance.

Comments may also be included, particularly for patterns such as frequent restroom usage, to help track student behavior and responsibility. While this does not impact the academic grade, it is important for students to develop good habits and accountability in class.

Course Description

Common Core Accelerated 6th is a rigorous course that covers all the mathematical fundamentals before pre-algebra. This course covers all of the Common Core standards for 7th grade which include concepts related to variable expressions, equations, and inequalities, geometry, rational numbers, probability, formulas, and percents. Students are also exposed to solving problems which require higher order thinking skills and the ability to reason and communicate mathematically.
