Common Core Accelerated Math 6 2026-2027

Absent and Late Work Policy:

Grades and Aeries

  • If you are absent because you are sick, you will have a week from when you return to school to turn in any work for full credit.
  • Absent students must check Google Classroom for what we did in class, to not fall behind.
  • Late work will receive half credit and you will need to fill out the Late form in Google Classroom.

Textbook Adoption

  • Our district textbook adoption team is piloting three new publishers this year to evaluate potential instructional materials for future use. All students will receive full instruction covering 100% of the course-level math standards.

Grades are based on a weighted scale. This is updated on a weekly basis.

  • Homework: 20%
  • Tests / Quizzes: 70%
  • Projects / Class Participation: 10%

Aeries Comments: Teachers comments may be included to provide feedback on work habits, citizenship, or classroom behavior. While these comments do not affect their academic grade, they encourage student accountability and personal growth.

Course Description

Common Core Accelerated 6th is a rigorous course designed to prepare students for pre-algebra by compacting foundational math skills and mastering all 7th grade Common Core standards. Key topics include variable expressions, equations, inequalities, geometry, rational numbers, probability, formulas, and percents. Students will engage in complex problem-solving that develops higher-order thinking, logical reasoning, and mathematical communication skills..

  • Daily Agendas & Announcements: Posted for all students, including those who are absent.
  • Lesson Notes & Materials: Available to support in-class learning and homework.

Students are expected to check Google Classroom daily to stay up-to-date.
