WHATSAPP USAGE AND ADMINS

WhatsApp Admins & Guidelines: Why They Matter

It seems there’s some concern or confusion about the need for admins in our WhatsApp chats and the importance of our rules of engagement and the agreements that all WhatsApp Users signed. Let’s clear this up…

  • Purpose of Admins: To keep chats focused, respectful, and on-topic—not to act as "Big Brother." Admins will only step in when or if the “Use of the WhatsApp group” conversation goes against the rules of engagement and agreements set forth.
  • Community-Requested Platform: WhatsApp is used as the informal method of communication for the CDA community, in response to community’s requests, despite school administration’s firm and serious caution against using such platforms
  • Reminder: If admins and chat guidelines are undermined, chastised and not respected, we may need to move all communications strictly to Email and Schoology only (where admin oversight would still be in place).
  • Our Goal: Keep WhatsApp as an efficient, positive tool to keep parents informed of important class and school related information—together, we can maintain the standard and practice of discernment, maturity, kindness and collaboration!

If you have any further questions or concerns, please reach out to the Room Parent Coordinators or a trusted member of the Friends of CDA Booster Board. We are committed to maintaining transparency and authenticity in our communication, as gossip and hearsay do not build a strong foundation for a successful community.

Thank You for Your Cooperation!

ENRICHMENT FUND

First, we would like to acknowledge and thank those who continue to support the fund through recurring donations, knowing that everyone in our community has likely provided some form of assistance to those impacted by the wildfires.

We’ve decided to put our campaign efforts on hold through January given the impact this disaster has had on so many.

We’ll resume our efforts in February with a couple of exciting campaigns:

  1. The Ice Cream Challenge deadline will be extended through the end of February. We have a few classes that are very close to reaching 75% participation.
  2. Show CDA some love in February with our heart lock fundraiser and exclusive owl merchandise
