و كان قبلا في المدينة رجل اسمه سيمون يستعمل السحر و يدهش شعب السامرة قائلا انه شيء عظيم. و كان الجميع يتبعونه من الصغير الى الكبير قائلين هذا هو قوة الله العظيمة. و كانوا يتبعونه لكونهم قد اندهشوا زمانا طويلا بسحره.
But there was a certain man called Simon, who previously practiced sorcery in the city and astonished the people of Samaria, claiming that he was someone great, to whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, "This man is the great power of God“. And they heeded him because he had astonished them with his sorceries for a long time.

ولكن لما صدقوا فيلبس و هو يبشر بالامور المختصة بملكوت الله و باسم يسوع المسيح اعتمدوا رجالا و نساء. و سيمون ايضا نفسه امن و لما اعتمد كان يلازم فيلبس و اذ راى ايات و قوات عظيمة تجرى اندهش.
But when they believed Philip as he preached the things concerning the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, both men and women were baptized. Then Simon himself also believed; and when he was baptized he continued with Philip, and was amazed, seeing the miracles and signs which were done.

و لما سمع الرسل الذين في اورشليم ان السامرة قد قبلت كلمة الله ارسلوا اليهم بطرس و يوحنا. اللذين لما نزلا صليا لاجلهم لكي يقبلوا الروح القدس. لانه لم يكن قد حل بعد على احد منهم غير انهم كانوا معتمدين باسم الرب يسوع.
Now when the apostles who were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them, who, when they had come down, prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit. For as yet He had fallen upon none of them. They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

حينئذ وضعا الايادي عليهم فقبلوا الروح القدس. و لما راى سيمون انه بوضع ايدي الرسل يعطى الروح القدس قدم لهما دراهم. قائلا اعطياني انا ايضا هذا السلطان حتى اي من وضعت عليه يدي يقبل الروح القدس.
Then they laid hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit. And when Simon saw that through the laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Spirit was given, he offered them money, saying, "Give me this power also, that anyone on whom I lay hands may receive the Holy Spirit“.

فقال له بطرس لتكن فضتك معك للهلاك لانك ظننت ان تقتني موهبة الله بدراهم. ليس لك نصيب و لا قرعة في هذا الامر لان قلبك ليس مستقيما امام الله. فتب من شرك هذا و اطلب الى الله عسى ان يغفر لك فكر قلبك.
But Peter said to him, "Your money perish with you, because you thought that the gift of God could be purchased with money!. "You have neither part nor portion in this matter, for your heart is not right in the sight of God. "Repent therefore of this your wickedness, and pray God if perhaps the thought of your heart may be forgiven you.

لاني اراك في مرارة المر و رباط الظلم. فاجاب سيمون و قال اطلبا انتما الى الرب من اجلي لكي لا ياتي علي شيء مما ذكرتما (اع 8 : 9 – 24)
"For I see that you are poisoned by bitterness and bound by iniquity“. Then Simon answered and said, "Pray to the Lord for me, that none of the things which you have spoken may come upon me".
(Act 8 : 9 – 24)

الخلاص = ملكوت الله وبره
Salvation = God’s Kingdom and His righteousness
الطريق = المسيح كما عرفناه وتسلمناه من الكنيسة
The way = Christ as we have known Him
and grasped Him from the church

Let us Revise
اني اتعجب انكم تنتقلون هكذا سريعا عن الذي دعاكم بنعمة المسيح الى انجيل اخر. ليس هو اخر غير انه يوجد قوم يزعجونكم ويريدون ان يحولوا انجيل المسيح.ولكن ان بشرناكم نحن او ملاك من السماء بغير ما بشرناكم فليكن اناثيما.
I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed.

في كل جيل هناك محاولة خلط المفاهيم المستقيمة بالغير مستقيمة
In every generation, there is an attempt of mixing
the right concepts with the non right ones
كما سبقنا فقلنا اقول الان ايضا ان كان احد يبشركم في غير ما قبلتم فليكن اناثيما. افاستعطف الان الناس ام الله ام اطلب ان ارضي الناس فلو كنت بعد ارضي الناس لم اكن عبدا للمسيح. (غل 1 : 6 - 10)
As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed. For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ. (Gal 1:6-10)

Are we allowed to listen to anyone’s sermons?
في وقت إستماعنا، هل نستطيع إنتقاء ما يتوافق مع تعاليمنا بحكمة؟؟
Do we wisely filter while we are listening?

هل نحن على دراية تامة بعقيدتنا الارثوذكسة لدرجة أن ننفتح
على التعاليم الاخرى ونسمح لآخرين بذلك أيضاً؟؟
Are we strong enough in our Orthodox doctrine to expose ourselves or others to other teachings?
هل نحن على وعي وإستيعاب تام لحلم وحدة الكنائس
كما يعنيه الروح القدس؟؟
Do we understand the dream of the unity of the whole church as meant by the Holy Spirit?
