Recommended Mice:

“Making lightweight mice can generally help users execute larger, faster flicks far more accurately,” a Razer representative told Tom’s Guide. “This is most commonly observed with players who game on lower DPI sensitivities, like in FPS games where precision is most crucial.”

Why mousepads?

  • They increase your consistency when aiming
  • What your use as a surface for your mouse matters
  • If you’re using a cloth pad, it will save your mouse feet
  • It helps you develop your aim.
  • Without a mousepad, you’re LIMITING your ABILITY TO BE A BEAST

Sensitivity and the Basics

  • Typical sens configs
  • Most folks use between 24cm to 50cm hipfire
  • For ADS it is generally a little higher between 40cm to 60cm - Some 80’s
  • The general rule for sens is to try stay within a reasonable range and adjust accordingly. It’s about how you feel later down the road instead of what you think.

Kovaaks:

  • What is Kovaaks: Simply put Kovaaks is a mouse control or “aim trainer” trainer.
  • Where to get Kovaaks: Steam marketplace for $10 (unless its on sale).
  • Why use Kovaaks: As of right now Kovaaks has the by far the most scenarios and largest community out of every other “aim trainer” which means plenty of unique ways to train your mouse control and people to get advice from.

So what makes aim training good?

  • Aim isolation training
  • Low pressure
  • Movement aim training
  • Possibly harder scenarios than in-game
  • Progression Tracking
  • Optional competitive scoring (leaderboards and weekly challenges in KovaaKs and Sparky discord)

Transfer sens to Kovaaks:

  • Do I use ADS or Hipfire sens? Most people use their hipfire sense but in general what sense you use doesn't matter and using a diverse range of senses will help improve your arm and wrist control. Higher sense for wrist, lower for arm.
  • Where to convert sense? The simplest way is https://www.mouse-sensitivity.com/. Select Centimeters under units (default is inches). Then put in the sens (if you are transferring ADS use https://ps2-sens.now.sh/ to find your cm/360 then play with numbers to get that in https://www.mouse-sensitivity.com/). Next select game to transfer to (use any source game like quake). You will use the sense next to sensitivity 1.

What fov to use in Kovaaks:

If you want 90 fov PS2 its 121.28 source. But, like sense this doesnt matter very much. People who main Kovaaks use 103 Overwatch for click and tracking scenarios and 110 Overwatch for target switch.

How to find good scenarios:

WARNING: There are drastic diminishing returns after 2h of Kovaaks. The sweet spot is 1-2 hours. Also, don’t play Kovaaks more than your main game.

SupaTank has made some PS2 specific scenarios for people who don’t want to dive deep into all that Kovaaks has to offer yet. Access them by selecting ONLINE SCENARIOS and searching PS2.

For those if you who want to really get into Kovaaks it is highly recommended you join the Sparky Discord (https://discord.gg/sparky). Go through their resource page which has tech, scenario, theory, and health documents.

If you want the best overall aim stick to the sparky fundamental routine until you are plat or diamond then expand to something more PS2 specific. Bronze to Plat took SupaTank 2.5 months. It is also suggested that you track your progress with their benchmarks https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1DARqNtYbnBUUam0VPnUK7XudR-q3QM20mzBzmZU9oYc/edit#gid=339945192
