Vehicles – 2 Needed

  • Any vehicles approved now, and ordered October 1, would not be in service until early Spring or Summer 2027. Mileages shown on next page are mileage estimates when approved vehicles would be in service for Summer 2027.
  • Spent $4068 on the 2017 Explorer this year to replace failed water pump.
  • This is a known issue with 2011 – 2019 year models, and we currently have another vehicle in that range in our fleet
  • In Ford Police Interceptor Utilities (FPIUs), failures are frequently reported as early as 60,000 to 80,000 miles. Failure rate climbs exponentially after 3000 idle hours

Personnel Requests

  • Eviction move outs have increased 109% since 2022. We now average more than 3 per week and they take minimum 2 deputies. They can last from 1 to 6+ hours each. Currently we can only schedule one per day due to staffing
  • Calls for service answered by our office have risen from 84-216 from 2022-2025 (157% increase) **Calls for service are going to be down this year due to increased civil load
  • Service attempts have risen from 1365 to 1661 between 2022-2025 (22% increase)
  • Civil cases alone are up from 1323 to projected 2258 this year (71% since 2022) and those are the cases that feed our civil process load
  • Cases filed in JP court have risen from 2912 to projected 4864 this year (67% since 2022) necessitating more court bailiff time
  • Precinct 2 is currently the lowest staffed and highest civil process volume precinct
  • 15+ years at current staffing levels
