To support growth of the digital economy, the government intends to implement e-Invoicing in stages in effort to enhance the efficiency of the country's tax administration management.

Rolled out in phases from 2024-2027 based on annual turnover thresholds

The Initial phase is open to all entities prepared for the digital shift regardless of turnover.

The model planned by the Malaysian government will be based on the CTC combined with a PEPPOL network. 

​

Peppol is a common framework that allows for the direct transmission of E-Invoicing under a structured digital format between buyers and suppliers.

​

• Each invoice at this stage will be provided with a certificate with its serial number, which will be proof for both the issuer and the recipient that it has been issued correctly.
